Q: What do we do after the BLUE WAVE?

A: WE FLIP THE ECONOMIC PYRAMID

Q: How do we flip the economic pyramid?

A: We return to the New Deal, which worked amazingly well. We get serious about a progressive tax – which means tax the upper brackets a lot more and the lower brackets less. THEN we (smartly) allocate funds for physical and intellectual infrastructure – roads, schools, and environmental protections. We create the conditions for a robust PEOPLE's ECONOMY. Cultivate a healthy emergent system. It's really a traditional and highly effective idea with new biological theories to support it. See E.O. Wilson on emergent systems.

Q: What's a people's economy?

A: It's not one where corporations get all the concessions and tax breaks and everyone else gets crumbs and have to compete against those propped up behemoths. In a people's economy small business has leverage again – and "small" includes both a small family restaurant or plumbing outfit all the way down to an individual getting a state-funded nursing degree or electrician's license.

Return America to the Americans! Thank ALL progressive Democrats for reminding us that we abandoned what was once working in this country: the New Deal.

Same old? Hell yeah! It worked! Let's get ready to do it again – but better, with many lessons learned since the 1930s about INCLUDING women, the LGBTQ community, and all ethnicities and religious (and non-religious) persuasions.

I'm sick of doing three jobs. The pyramid must, and WILL be flipped.

Dams are vitally important for locales all across the country. Most of them are in seriously poor repair.

Flip the pyramid and rebuild the people's infrastructure to support BOTH a robust people's economy and a robust democracy.

Automatic voter registration. Eliminate gerrymandering and electoral college. Enforce equal access to voting stations.

Restoring faith in the value of the vote is a necessity. I live in Texas. Why should my vote for a Democrat President mean nothing? I vote, but it often seems like a lost cause. Until we can motivate all to vote, democracy is a sham.

Prosecute criminal politicians. I also completely agree with your suggestions, a paper trail is badly needed.

Keep those blue waves coming ashore.

Pick up the pieces. This is what Democrats always do. The repubs screw things up and we have to clean up after the mess.

This time it's going to be pretty bad, worst in history.

1. Enforce anti-trust on giant corporations. This would allow for more competition in industry.
2. Rebuild the unions and roll back "right-to-work laws". Stronger unions = fairer pay for the workers.
3. Think out a way to get the wealth down from the one percent to the masses.
4. Invest in education. Free college for starters.
5. Invest in science. Fusion, green energy and space exploration!
6. Single payer healthcare. Healthcare shouldn't ruin anyones life.

I worked on trying to raise taxes on the top half of one percent of richest, mostly international conglomerates, in Oregon -- and it failed.

Don't imagine for a second that just because people vote out Trump sycophants, they're actually for what you're advocating for.

Let me suggest that we start instead with working for a national adoption of Oregon's vote by mail system, which will make it much easier for busy poor people to vote. Even then they may be fooled by oligarchs, but it will be harder to do it consistently.

And some of the ideas in circulation (here and elsewhere), gives substance and endurance.

We must keep BOTH the ideas and the energy moving forward. One reinforces the other.

BTW, the fact that fair wealth distribution is being tried at all is a STEP in the right direction. Discouragement is for losers. Only dreamers win at all.

GOTV loves GOTI (get out the ideas)!

With Trump as president and no veto proof supermajority, there won't be a ton that can be done legislatively.

However, what can be done is to keep Trump in check, and he will be forced to get sane or he will get NOTHING done.

More change can happen at state and local levels. The wave must be a Tsunami at every level everywhere.

I don't mean to belittle the idea of addressing incoming inequality. I guess I was just thinking more strategically in terms of electoral strategy. I do agree with you that something must be done to help address the systemic problems you outline.
