I think you're undercounting the Women's March -- DC went well over 1 million all by itself.

The Washington March drew 1,200,000 to 1,400,000 people.[22] Between 3,267,134 and 5,246,670 people participated in the Women's March in the United States,[23] or approximately 1.0 to 1.6 percent of the U.S. population. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Women%27s_March

Turns Out Attendance at Women's March Events Was Bigger Than Estimated

DC Metro Reports Second-Highest Ridership Ever On Women's March Day http://www.democraticunderground.com/10141673918
Source: Talking Points Memo
By ESME CRIBB Published JANUARY 22, 2017, 12:33 PM EDT
An official estimate from D.C. Metro authority shows that the transit system had its second-busiest day ever on Saturday as crowds from the Women's March streamed into Washington, surpassed only by ridership on the day of President Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration.
The number of entries into the Metro on Saturday was second only to the number of entries on Jan. 20, 2009, according to a statement by Metro General Manager Paul J. Wiedefeld cited in a Washington Post report.
On Friday, during President Donald Trump's inauguration, the Metro reported 570,557 entries per the Washington Post. This figure indicates not only a lower ridership than the Metro reported on Saturday but a lower ridership than it reported for either of Obama's inaugurations.

at the time I'm pretty sure I heard people say it was the biggest protest EVER in U.S. history. But, like I said, couldn't find any links for that claim.

Trump claimed in 2017 the women were there for HIS inauguration. In 2018 it went mostly ignored. Didn't get nearly the coverage March For Our Lives got. DON'T GET ME WRONG - The march today DESERVES every iota of coverage it got. But SO did the women's marches.

Seems the US has an issue when it comes to giving a damn about its women and their human rights. Simply, it mostly doesn't. Including most of the media.

Of course crowd sizes are always estimates, but everybody agrees that this was much bigger than the massive first Women's March.

And of course several orders of magnitude bigger than Dump's pathetic inauguration crowd!

The DC Women's march was at least 1.2 million and still holds the record as the largest march/protest in US history. This was quite large, but both the Women's March and Obama's inauguration were bigger.

Now, if you factor in all the cities participating around the country and world, this may come in as the largest. But strictly talking about DC, it's not the biggest.
