There is no shortage of misguided statements in today’s America. But Rick Santorum suggesting that kids learn CPR instead of calling for gun laws is in a category of its own.

You just need some forceps to pull the bullet and debris out of the wound, sutures to sew up the wound, oh, and to sew up any blood vessels nicked by the bullet, um . . . blood for transfusion, oxygen, anaesthetic, what else, what else . . . blood pressure monitor, EKG, loads of sterile gauze . . .

You know, a fully equipped operating theater in every school might prove helpful. For a mass shooting, though, you really need multiple ORs.

So you see, it's a much simpler plan than trying to keep crowd-killing guns out of the hands of crazy white people or terrorist brown people.

Folks spouting such patent nonsense as Santorum does, he never quite disqualifies himself from getting a platform on some national media outlet. It's baffling to me why CNN would have this nincompoop on to mouth such preposterous nonsense.

"Where do you want to go for dinner?" "I'm thinking Italian." "I'd like barbed wire and hubcaps." There isn't a middle ground in that discussion. One side is just insane, and their "thoughts" shouldn't be aired.

I tried calling, but they refuse to talk to ordinary people. I did tell them if I see Santorum on again I will contact advertisers to let them know I will not buy their products.
