We had lunch with our family on Sunday. My wife is a kindergarten teacher, and during the meal my aunt asked her what she thought of teachers carrying guns. My wife said that it was a stupid ideas. To my pleasant surprise, my aunt actually agreed that it's a stupid solution. So far so good.
Then my aunt was talking about what a twisted world we live in, and how the whole world seems to be losing its mind.
I couldn't resist. I told her it's not the whole world, just America. Other countries enacted common sense gun control. Other countries don't have this problem. She had nothing to add after that.

"Oooh," they reply.
"So you see?" I conclude, "it's not without controversy over there - and remember: this isn't Switzerland."

(50,557 posts)If your average NRA member had to live under the Swiss weapons law - which is about to get a lot harsher, because in August 2018 the gun laws of every nation in the Schengen Area must be made the same - they would defect to Somalia.
