Wayne Allyn Root: Chicago & Baltimore Are Third-World Hellholes Because They Dont Practice Capit

In a speech to the Western Conservative Conference over the weekend, Trump-loving radio personality Wayne Allyn Root cheered the president’s comments about immigrants from “shithole countries,” claiming that Trump was talking about countries with “high taxes” where people’s “lives are a nightmare” just like the “third-world hellholes” of Chicago, Baltimore and Detroit where “they don’t practice capitalism.”

“If you look at every country that has high taxes in the world, their lives are a nightmare,” Root said. “Their lives are a nightmare. What did Donald Trump call them? I think they were called ‘sh-holes,’ right? And we’ve got a few shitholes in America, too. Chicago is a sh-hole, Baltimore is a shithole—there’s a few of them—Detroit is a sh-hole. There are third-world hellholes right in the middle of the United States of America where they don’t practice capitalism, that’s why.”

He went on to declare that “no one ever gave me white privilege” and “no one ever gave me a damn thing in my life because I’m white or smart or an American,” attributing his success to his “relentlessness”—which reminded him to boast that Trump himself had endorsed his book “The Power of Relentless.”

Jan 20, 2016 - As Denmark consistently ranks among the happiest countries in the world, many of the journalists will look at me with disbelief and ask, "Danes pay some of the highest taxes in the world, so why are they so happy?" Denmark has one of the highest tax rates in the world, which is often mentioned as one of ...

9. Root was a nutcase in the sports betting community when I lived in Las Vegas

It's a perfect setting for that type because almost all the guys in that field are white right wing lunatics. I've mentioned that many times. Guys like Root could get up there on the sports betting radio programs and practice his political rants because he knew his audience would lap it up and there would be no complaints or opposition.

Another nutcase named Papa Joe Chevalier did the same thing. He was even more unhinged than Root at that point. The show was technically sports related but Papa Joe devoted almost the entirety to liberals and how "they stand for nothing."

I took him apart one time when both of us were guests on the Stardust Line. He attempted his typical simpleton schtick and couldn't believe he was being challenged. The live audience started laughing when I reversed the table on him and he struggled to do anything but repeat the same empty lines. It was like an early version of Marco Rubio.

Unfortunately I never had that opportunity with Root.

Papa Joe Chevalier was older. Root was young enough to draw the attention of the ultra right wing rag Las Vegas Review Journal. He initially started writing letters to the editor that were similar caliber and themes to the hack editorial board. The Review Journal staff was so impressed they eventually gave Root a stage, and he took it from there including back to talk radio but this time solely political.
