(20,849 posts)You'll see that she wasn't the head writer until much later on in the show. And yes, like Seinfeld, and Tim Allen's show of that time period it was based off her stand up act. Basically I'm arguing as she made more money she was less and less like the person she was during her stand up days. She continued to play that character for a little while, but slowly the show changed. By the end she was very much less like the person she was at the start of the series. Her personal life became a well documented mess that was often on public display.
