This is my biggest memory from the series. I googled it and found it. It's pretty awesome.

What the hell happened to Roseanne?

1. She made a ton of money is what happened to her

There became a huge gap between the real Roseanne's life and the character that she played. The writers on the show heavily rotated as the series progressed. I believe in the end Roseanne became heavily involved in her own writing and creative force...

2. She wrote the early stuff, too. It was based on her stand up.

You'll see that she wasn't the head writer until much later on in the show. And yes, like Seinfeld, and Tim Allen's show of that time period it was based off her stand up act. Basically I'm arguing as she made more money she was less and less like the person she was during her stand up days. She continued to play that character for a little while, but slowly the show changed. By the end she was very much less like the person she was at the start of the series. Her personal life became a well documented mess that was often on public display.
