I don't advocate him wasting money on his personal escapades.

but, I certainly have positive concerns about the validity of his statement:

"Shulkin said he was under pressure by forces in the Trump administration that want to privatize his now-former agency. He dismissed privatization as a “terrible idea.”

“They saw me as an obstacle to privatization who had to be removed,” he wrote, without naming his critics. “That is because I am convinced that privatization is a political issue aimed at rewarding select people and companies with profits, even if it undermines care for veterans.”

The VA under Trump who said he would take care of Veterans, "fired many of the attorney's whose job is to settle VA Claims and Cases, resulted to "cut the staffing, and toss all those cases in a que, with no timeline for addressing them".

If he cared to respect Veterans, some of that $700 Billion would have been "set aside to settle claims and cases", They could have set aside easily $1-2 Billion, even up to $5-7 Billion to ensure that expedient settlements are paid to Veterans. specifically to "Rapid Settlement of Claims", and they could have sent out and order, that "Regional Counsel's CANNOT summarily dismiss claims as a means to get them off their desk", and pass it on in a system they know will "stall out the veteran's".

Many people have no idea what takes place with the claims processes. Regional Counsel's will Summarialy Decline Them, because they don't want it attributed to their Division, so they still get their "bonuses". Bonuses should be Outlawed within the VA system, because it is nothing more than an "incentive" not to treat Veterans Fairly and Equitably, nor to give the best treatment that is available to Veterans.
People need to be aware of this gaming of the system.

The wealthy who back Trump including the Medical Community who was bought out and promised many things by Republican if they 'stand against ACA", are in line waiting on "privatization" as their compensation for their stand against ACA. People need to be aware of the shenanigans that has taken place in our system, and how Republican are on the hook to "make good on the promises they made to the Medical and Pharmacy and Insurance Industry for their participation to attack ACA.

These are your children and Family Members whose lives have been damaged by acts and actions not only of the War Driven Minded people, but how they have systematically set up, to "pay bonuses" to VA Directors who can "under-serve Veterans and Maliciously Doctor the Documents to push inaccurate data, and even delete data that demonstrates the real truth.
Many Veterans from the 1970's have been told there was a fire that destroyed documents, so many of these veterans have no recourse, even from the "practicing on Veterans, by Dentist who drilled and filled peoples teeth, which fell apart a few years after their term and discharge was done. Millions of Veterans, had work done that was unnecessary, and many have suffered many years by being used for "practice purpose" by those in these fields.

ANY ATTEMPT TO PRIVATIZE THE SYSTEM SHOULD BE MET WITH CHALLENGE. Yes, people should have options to go to the closest doctor, and if that means a phone call for approval, then properly "staff the call center", with people who can authorize it, when it is an emergency.

2. How do the republicans rectify all of the military ass kissing they do when

they are more than willing to turn around experiment with privatizing the VA system rather than improving what is already there.

The human component is the most important part of the military, but the republicans are more than willing to underpay and under care for these men and women when they return from duty.

Every year they want to increase the military budget but it seems like each increase in spending all goes on new toys that don't work rather than into the VA or better benefits for the folks that have to operate all of that fancy shit.

3. VA Employees

Many are paid by the hour, and many doctors are paid a "salary", not paid by the "appointments' or the "procedures they perform"... Therefore "the cost should not be excessive"... Yet, the VA will bill ones Insurance even for Veterans who have full VA medical coverage, if the person has private insurance. The level of billing is "excessive in fee's billed. why should a fee for example of: $400 be sent to a private insurance for a 5 minute visit with some VA Doctors. It's a Travesty!!!! or something like $75K billed to an insurance company for robotic prostrate surgery.

In some Regions, they cycle doctors between the local hospitals to VA hospitals in a 3 month spin, many times as simply a means to get these people "certifications and build their resume". The nurses seem to remain in place, as does many of the other non doctor personnel. If there is a issue or challenge that is lodged, they "immediately will transfer people to a new facility in a different part of the state or to another state". They cycle people, so they are unavailable to address the acts that may have been done which results in damage to the Veteran.

A full list of "every medical person who every treats a VA patient should be set up on the "Veterans Health-vet Website", so patients don't have the hassle of trying to remember these peoples names and the date they provided service. TRANSPARENCY and Honesty.

I know they do shifty stuff, because they deleted many message of critique from my very own "Secure Messaging" they provide. They had no business or need to 'delete anything communicated by a Veteran to the Doctors"... Only the Veteran should be able to delete anything from their files. I'd advise Veterans, if you communicate any data via their system, "PRINT A COPY" or Save it as a PDF in your own personal 'removable storage"... Trust no system with your data that is sensitive or data that is communicated that address concerns and issues.

The General Employee's who work for the VA are mostly Good People who have taken a job and many take that job seriously... they don't just sling out the phrase "Thank you, for Your Service"... many actually mean it. There are some who use it because its "required to say that".
One may inquire when every three months there's a new doctor assigned. Therefore, this should be MANDATORY information of "every doctor and their length of service, their specialty, their basic bio to include their standings and rating", listed and accessible by EVERY VETERAN, via the Healthvet Web Portal.

4. "TALK" and when people run for Office _ Make Sure to Ask About Their VA Dedications

Any person running for any Office who has political voice. Make Sure to Ask About Their VA Dedications and Dedication to Superior VA Medical Care and Coverage.

We as American allow our politicians to make decision about the people who protect this country. It does not matter what job a Military Person does, they should be Respected with the same Respect Give to Officers !!!!

If anyone get a VA Doctors who will not Talk and Answer Question _ REPORT THEM, and do it in written form, and use routing so it goes to their superiors and in some cases copy to Senators when it is matters that need that level of support.

Then if one ever needs to take it to the Media, they have documentation with dates and times. Followed by the list of "treating physicians which must be listed in "healthvet" and accessible by "every" Veteran.

In the society today, documentation matters, because the world is filled with "word twisting attorney's" and within the VA system, its convoluted legal processes is set up to make it difficult to deal with 'independent attorneys". Its why the VA will dismiss claims and then tell people they can file in Civil Court, because they know many attorney's will not touch a VA case, because of the lock out mentality the system is structured to use as a 'firewall" against Civil Tort Cases.

We the people must be aware of how to use the Political Representative to stand up for Veterans. We can no longer elect people based on the "Drama Advertisement of their TV Commercials".

Look at what it took during the Iraq War and the EXPOSURE of the horrible conditions found a Walter Reed Medical Center, before the VA system invested to fix their hospitals and improve their processes. They had to be publicly embarrassed into addressing the conditions.

NUMBER ONE ON THE AGENDA.... is "NO MORE BONUSES WITHIN THE VA SYSTEM OT EXECUTIVES AND DIRECTORS".... It's an incentive that is designed to cause damage and harm and poor service to Veterans. The general Employee does not get bonuses, only the Executives and High Level Administrators. That is a program that needs to be ABOLISHED.

Take it serious, because it may be your son or daughter, mother or father, cousin or friend, who suffers because someone is trying to "protect their bonus".... !!!!

The word needs to get out, people should give the OP the rec's it needs to ensure that it is read by many... because it is a serious matter that affects Millions of Families across this nation. Otherwise the thread gets buried before enough people can read and "think" about these crucial matters impacting the people who protect our system and society.

So, people can chime in and share their thoughts, their experiences and the long madness of delays, and the craziness of using "Bonuses, designed for Administrators to minimize services, to assure themselves a bonus"...

Facing these facts, is a much needed way and method to protect veterans within the system, and bring respect to the employees who work within the system and want to do good medical care work, and hold the Doctors to a level of "ethical accountability', without them having to be constrained by Hospital and Regional Directors who's aims is to cut cost so he/she can be assured a Bonus.

Everyone knows a Veteran who is: either as a friend, sister or brother, mother or father and even a grandmother or grandfather or relative.... !!!!!

No one needs to have made 20 thousand posting on this site to be taken serious, if that is the format, then there is something wrong !!!

8. I joined this site, WITH HOPE.. People actually talked about "what they want"

One sad thing I notice from this site vs City Data, where Right Winger mindsets seem to dominate, they say what they want, even what they want goes against everything that concerns care for and of America people. Still they say it, and even back and support each other even when they don't know what one or the other is talking about, and stand together when its even evident and certain they don't even know they stand against themselves in the things they support.

We better find a means to "SAY WHAT WE WANT" and "Build Unity About It" !!!! As a Democratic Party.

This site seem to have people with a "resistant attitude", some don't want to read anything but "slap stick one liners", other act like if they've been here a few years that they are too elite for people who recently jointed, then others resent anyone talking about anything with any detail, and they spend more time voting on "Drama News Spins", that will benefit nothing to the whole of society. Too much of the wrong type of "ego"... which does not benefit the Democratic Party developing consensus about "What Do We Want"...
