They’re going waaaayyyy too deep with the analysis. It’s really a very simple combination of two very simple things:

1. Incompetence. He’s fucking stupid. He may, occasionally, be crafty (he did get almost half the votes, after all), but he’s got no plan because he’s too dumb for one.

2. Ratings. The only semblance of a plan he DOES have is to get good ratings for his “Presidential Reality Show.”

That’s it.
