Sessions appointed Prosecutor to investigate FBI

Anyone been following this? The House GOP, particularly people like Mark Meadows have been demanding Sessions appoint a 2nd Special Counsel to investigate the FBI's corruption over the Clinton emails. Stopping short of an SC, he appointed a Utah prosecutor with most of the same powers of a Special Counsel.

Aside from how infuriating it is that they're still going after her over that, it concerns me that they're trying to destroy the credibility of the FBI to protect themselves and Trump from Mueller.

Any reassuring thoughts here? I don't like a rogue prosecutor going after the FBI in order to cover-up the GOP crimes and shut down Mueller.

Don't like the man, but he was railroaded. The supposed Inspector General probably assumed that of course he'd be given a slap on the wrist.
They found a reason to fire him-- and he'd already retired, was no longer working there. Sessions ruined the career of someone who gave most of his life to the FBI, made him feel like a criminal. I hope the FBI agents noted that and are responding.

but...

It has been worrying me how the senators and Rosenstein keep saying that of course Mueller won't be fired "without due cause."

Yeah, you can always find "cause" to fire someone. Mueller is probably about the straightest shooter in the country, and his investigation has been impeccable. But one scrap of paper that finds its way out of that building-- Sessions will say, "That's cause!" and I think Rosenstein will probably go along with it.

from Utah to do the investigation instead. So it wasn't quite as far as the GOP wanted yet, but still a major threat to the FBI.

a old fashioned Witch Hunt and we know who that Target is. This is just a diversion for Trump and his rapid dogs in the GOP.

And of course,Hillary is the real Target. The GOP knows their are in trouble and they have to change the Narrative to it is Hillary's Corruption which was protected by the FBI.

Mid term Election Campaigns are about to kick into high gear.

Sessions does not appoint second special counsel to review FBI misconduct claims

Washington (CNN)Attorney General Jeff Sessions is not naming a new special counsel to investigate Republican-driven accusations against the FBI -- at least for now.

Instead, Sessions revealed Thursday that Utah's top federal prosecutor, John Huber, is looking into allegations that the FBI abused its powers in surveilling a former Trump campaign adviser, and claims that more should have been done to investigate Hillary Clinton's ties to a Russian nuclear energy agency.

I said he appointed a prosecutor from Utah instead of a 2nd Special Counsel. You just repeated exactly what I said.
