(31,243 posts)still on the air. I don't watch Ingraham, and I could care less what happens to her tv career, but I just wondered about the effectiveness of the boycott. I guess we'll have to wait and see if Fox carries her, even without advertising.
Mr.Bill
(24,334 posts)So we'll see.
I think there needs to be a concerted effort to go after Fox advertisers is a whole, not just individual shows.

(32,791 posts)After O'Reilly was hit with all the sexual allegations/lawsuits, his sponsors dropped him like hotcakes. His show was cancelled and he was out in less than a week. And he had higher ratings than Laura's show did.

They noted that there was no public response yet to the pressure.

(58,785 posts)I don't watch either of them so didn't know. But it's a pattern most of the right has followed, so very believable.
Most of these sponsors probably signed on when her message and the audience they were advertising to weren't overall quite so extremist and nasty. Someone on TV was surprised that the first 9 companies dumped her so promptly, but this probably not the first, or second, time it was discussed. Just the last time.
Way late, but...

And, she "apologized" because she was losing sponsors.

These companies are looking at their shortened life span under hacks like Ingraham.
The longevity of their business belongs to the Parkland generation.
As a business model, they see the future ...and it doesn't look like Mean Lady Ingraham.
She has reached her sell-by date.
Nice thought huh!
