"Clueless star and former Fox News personality Stacy Dash has withdrawn her candidacy for Californias 44th Congressional District, a little over a month after she announced her bid, CNN reports.
After much prayer, introspection and discussions with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy for Californias 44th Congressional District, Dash said in an email statement to CNN.
I started this run with the intention to address the pressing issues in the district where I live, Dash continued. I hoped, and remain hopeful, that I can assist people living here on the national level. My goal was, and remains, to improve the lives of people who have been forgotten for decades by the Democratic Party.
Dash said in her statement she feels at this point, considering the overall bitterness surrounding our political process, campaigning and holding elected office would be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of my family.

... "Hey world! Remember me? I used to be "Dionne" from the movie "Clueless" ... if you go buy a copy of the DVD on Amazon, or if you stream it on-demand, I'll get 10-cents in residuals."
Maybe she's getting ready to introduce a new line of cosmetics and jewelry on QVC and this was a kick-off to get her name back in the news.

(7,220 posts)publicly for answers is a source of derision? It always makes me think they're really saying is "I am incapable of making intelligent decisions on my own behalf, so I'm looking for magical signs from invisible forces to tell me what to do. That makes me totally fit for public office, and that's how I would handle public policy issues as well!"
