One of my many flaws is that I just cannot abide liars. I can easily go ballistic on someone

once it is clear that they have knowingly told me something they know is not true. I am generally a very tolerant person but, damn! Someone who will look me in the eye and then lie through their teeth to me had best be somewhere else when I discover their mendacity.

So, imagine how difficult it is to hear Trump repeatedly whining about how much "taxpayer money" is wasted due to the USPS giving below cost deliveries to Amazon. That is an obvious, transparent, in-your-face, "this is how stupid I think you are" LIE! The USPS has never spent one dime of "taxpayer money" because they have never been given any. NOT. ONE. DIME. They have always been self-funding. Their only financial difficulty is the ridiculously high future pension fund mandated by a spiteful GOP majority which siphons billions of dollars annually from their revenue.

But that repulsive maggot nest invades my family room to smugly repeat that it is just terrible how the Post Office wastes our tax money by subsidizing Amazon's deliveries and all I can do about is curse the tv!

"Bartender---!"

that's no character flaw. That's strong character. I would know, I'm the same way.

My father, long gone, was a very wise man. He used to say that he "hated a liar worse than a killer." You know what a killer will do right up front, but a liar will deceive. Once you discover that a person has lied to you, you can never trust him again.

A lie to your face is an insult to you. It assumes you're too stupid to see through it!

The human energy system is created with its own built-in BS detector. A lot of people don't use it, and many (LOL -- Republican, mostly, I suspect) have actually disabled theirs, or at least have it turned off. But as a result of having this, lies are corrosive to the human spirit.

I've felt this repeatedly, esp. since GWBush. I'm not quite as offended by Trump, who I regard as a buffoon on the matter, as I am by Sarah Huckabee Sanders who is to me THE MOST Orwellian figure I've ever encountered.

Conversely, truth (especially in the face of lies) is like a balm to the soul.

I notice the unremitting stream of lies from so many quarters is having a really deleterious effect on me. I noticed yesterday, but am not able to fully articulate it yet, another notch down in my general overall disposition, outlook on life, etc. (I guess that is a description after all.)
