I've worked in various forms of broadcast media. Trust me you want to hit Sinclair stations? Go after one major business category on the local level. Car dealerships. They spend the vast majority, sometimes upward of 30 to 40% of ad sales for TV and radio stations.
Car dealerships are VERY sensitive to brand name, protecting reputations, etc. You start a group calling, writing, social media posting about local dealerships supporting the sensational and fascist tactics of Sinclair stations.
Get to the GM and the Sales Managers. Heck go see them in person. They will take note and listen.

(2,244 posts)I've worked tv for years. And if it isn't auto dealers, its local mattress/furniture outlets and restaurants.
And aside from Sinclair, many once privately owned stations were already swallowed up in the corporate takeover of America by other conservative entities. So the shits been running deeper and longer than most would realize.

(9,090 posts)contact them let them know you can get what they're sponsoring in print.
same as for talk radio
let them know you have them sponsoring global warming denial in print, or repeating RW lies about the NRA, or defending trump and putin, etc.
it's faster and cheaper and more accurate to transcribe spoken word now, thanks to artificial intelligence, by an order of magnitude in the last 6 months -year. $5/hr or less at sonix.ai for instance.

(37,648 posts)so if a dealership advertises on tv at all, it sort of has to be on Fox. There is a CBS, too, but it's new & not nearly the viewership. Fox is IT for local news & weather.
Still, I can check into and see what's what.

(12,412 posts)They can make large deals that cover more than one broadcast area. Add to this that the FCC has recently canceled the rule that all licensed broadcasters in a given area be required to provide a news desk.
Stations will now be allowed to close their local news departments if they can't compete or just don't want to.
