My God, its just so obvious that his ignorance and narcissism has been compounded by progressive dementia which is apparent in his sentence structure and paucity of language and thought. If your parent, neighbor, or friend spoke in this fashion you would be worried in extremis.
As should we all be.

(5,810 posts)he is apt to go off on a tangent. Or what he thinks is a funny riff. Like his comment about Tip Top shape for the White House (the building that has no name??) led him to say, We call it Tippy Top shape. Huh? I am sure his staff was as surprised and confused by that as his audience. We call it that?? Which we, tRump??
The words zipped through his brain and he decided to add in the Tippy Top comment. Why? It added nothing to his point and, in fact, was rather odd. Something aint right with that guy. And it is apparent every time he opens his anus shaped mouth.

(25,862 posts)of very limited intellectual ability in the first place. And he doesn't read at all, not even the simplified briefings that are prepared for him every day. The last time he read a book was at best when he was in college, and I rather suspect he didn't read any assigned books back then. He might possibly have read the Cliff Notes, and he may have paid someone to write his papers. But it's more than obvious he has zero curiosity about the world, and has not picked up a book in decades. I bet he used to read magazine or newspaper articles about himself, but that probably stopped some years back.
Every skill has a "use it or lose it" aspect, and this is mostly what we're seeing here.
Also, from what I've read about him in various places, he may be dependent on drugs that cause him to be confused.

(5,611 posts)who has been around a person suffering from dementia will note the signs of his (possible/alleged) issues: obsession with one topic in a strange, ocd manner, constant repetition of certain words in a manner that doesnt make sense and inability to elaborate (such as saying tough thing or similar five times in a row, which has become standard for him. This isnt the case in older interviews with him on Oprah etc not that he was ever super eloquent but the difference is dramatic), inability to form sentences that make sense in a fundamental way, broken syntax, dropped subjects (losing track of who or what he was discussing in a few sentences), strange substitutions of words, tumbles of words that form incoherent expressions to mask the persons struggle to string together coherent thoughts.
In fact watching dementia patients on YouTube is a helpful way to compare some of the (possible) similarities in speech patterns. It seems very apparent to me. Hes likely in an early stage.

(25,862 posts)of his never reading anything, never engaging his brain at all.
Although I also understand that never reading, never exercising one's intellect is a factor in dementia.
Plus, of course, he's completely delusional about almost everything.
So dementia, drugs, laziness, whatever, it's beyond obvious that he's totally unfit to be President.

(37,748 posts)Consistently applying a disgust of Trump's sub-literate expositions to all other informal aspects tends to get one labeled as the 'word police.'
Yeah, he's an idiot... but he's really just one example of a nation of half-wits rationalizing inaccurate spelling as trendy.

(5,611 posts)speech. This on top of everything else of course. The irony is that the Republicans were so hysterical about Hillarys health crisis and they ignored Trumps refusal to get a real exam and then that appalling report from the military doctor.
