WASHINGTON More than a week after President Donald Trump signed a $1.3 trillion spending package into law, the White House is now looking to take another stab at the measure, exploring the use of a rarely used tool to slash funding from the measure.
The possible move which has drawn the ire of Democrats, who accused the White House of backing out of a bipartisan deal that it had helped craft follows days of harshly critical conservative media coverage of the spending package.
Trump's legislative affairs director, Marc Short, confirmed Tuesday night that the White House and congressional leaders are considering ways to cut parts of the appropriations measure. A senior GOP source said Trump spoke with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., about trimming it, although no details have been made public.
"There are conversations that are occurring right now. The administration and Congress and McCarthy are talking about it," Matt Sparks, a spokesman for McCarthy, told NBC News.

I just don't think he would even know about the rarely used tool for slashing or understand it.

Raise the spending and debt. Then say there is too much spending and debt and cut entitlement programs. SS good by, health insurance? good by. Schools? good by.
Add what ever else that is good for the people that the rethugs don't like..
