Let me get this straight...

On Hardball they were saying that Mueller has pretty much finished with the Obstruction part of the investigation and is ready to hand his report to Congress. He wants to do this NOW and not around the primaries. Mueller is still working on the Russian hacking and election interference and this will probably take another year (collusion). The money laundering ...who knows when that will be wrapped up?

What Congress wants to do with the info is anyone's guess. Publish the report? Probably won't impeach since the GOP is in charge.

Am I getting this right? Did anyone else see Hardball earlier today?

1. Wasn't listening, but GOPers aren't going to do anything about obstruction.

If Mueller doesn't have anything on collusion by now, not real hopeful there either.

Money laundering sounds way off.

I am assuming those reports have some basis, but I'm not sure anyone knows what's going on.

2. Let's not get too pessimistic. (This is advice to myself as well.)

A comprehensive AND damning report may sway enough GOPers in the House to side with Dems on impeachment. There doesn't need to be a unanimous vote. With an effective condemnation and a recommendation for impeachment, GOPers also know that Mueller has two other general issues to address. GOPers may not be willing to stomach MORE devastating news about their boss and his underlings, and may decide to cut the cord sooner rather than later. The longer they stall, the worse the outcomes for them.

3. given that the obstruction is effectively ongoing, "finished" would seem to imply an indictment

it's kinda hard to say "we're done, there's not enough here for an indictment" when he's making obstructive comments and threatening obstructive actions every other day.

so, that implies he's already got enough for an indictment, or at least for a recommendation for an indictment (if rosenstein needs to be the one who actually indicts).
