Freezing temperatures are predicted in south Arkansas tonight - south Arkansas! On April 7!
I just brought in plants and started a fire in the fireplace. Tell me again how there is nothing to this climate change stuff.

(16,170 posts)As the Arctic transitions from a relatively cold state to a warmer one, the frequency of severe winter weather in mid-latitudes increases through the transition. However, this relationship is strongest in the eastern US and mixed to even opposite along the western US. We also show that during mid-winter to late-winter of recent decades, when the Arctic warming trend is greatest and extends into the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, severe winter weatherincluding both cold spells and heavy snowsbecame more frequent in the eastern United States.

(26,123 posts)I wake up, look out the window, and immediately issue forth a string of profanities. It generally disappears by noon, but that's no comfort.
Last year I was mowing the lawn in April. This year I'm keeping the snow blower fueled and ready to go.

(11,013 posts)Maybe you should move to Arkansas.
Imagine what a few thousand liberal Yankees moving to Arkansas would do for the local politics. Come ahead on - I'll teach you how to speak southern.

I'm actually considering moving to North Carolina, to be close to my grandniece, but homes are damn expensive.
I don't think that I've ever been to Arkansas. Might be worth a look-see, if only for a visit.

Brrrrr.
