2. That was the whole point. But give it a day or two.

The reality is that most Americans don't give a crap about Syria and couldn't find it on a map. Trump's domestic scandals won't go away.

You are implying this will be over and back to the myriad scandals.

Trump's bombing crusade gets hima brief respite from the hourly breaking news scandals revealing his latest corrupt deeds, but he can't escape his legal problems for long. Comey's memoir hits bookstores next week, and he has already scheduled a series of media appearances that will put him squarely back in the public eye.

If anything, Mueller's investigation(s) see to be ramping up, and journalists are discovering new information every day. Speculation is mounting about Mueller's report on Trump’s conduct while in office and the media has said they are in the final stages, with the first report focused on obstruction of justice.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of western media in Syria, so coverage might be very limited, and we all know how the feckless public will quickly lose interest without on the scene videos of war porn. So this temporary diversionary display will play out over the weekend -- another bad decision for Trump -- when people aren't watching 24/7 news. Once Comey starts doing the talk show circuit and the next breaking news story about Trump's evil doings hits, he's right back in the soup again.

6. Yes, so obvious Syria is nothing but a distraction from the Mueller investigation...

As far as I can tell, only the 3 cable news networks have interrupted their coverage of other political stories to cover Syria attack.

Sides are drawn, among the citizens and Congress alike. Impeachment is no more or less likely now than it was an hour ago.

Mueller continues to work.

The investigation stuff has been going on so long it more or less blends from one day to the next, in the mind of the typical American. But very, very, very seldom does a president launch an attack like this. It will dominate the headlines and the discussion. People will know about it who didn't hear anything about Comey's book or anything about Michael Cohen.

Any president has enormous resources at his disposal. When you are a life long crook and liar like this president, then the resources expand to immeasurable level because nothing is out of bounds for him. That's why it's silly to pretend Trump is on the verge of being kicked out of office. His approval rating will rise based on this act alone.

And engaged in the Vietnam War, he was green lighting nefarious illegal activities and covering it up.

Trump is fucked with or without Syrian bombing.
