I can understand why Zinke or Carson or DeVos might not be invited.
But UN ambassador Nikki Haley, not invited to a state dinner for the head of a country that's a member of the UN Security Council?

(49,041 posts)answer your question, since there's been nothing on her Twitter or FB account to show anything on her schedule today...but she did post about a meeting that took place yesterday, without mentioning it was yesterday.

Her tweet was 6 hours ago.

is nearly 24 hours old.
I did see one Trump supporter point to this meeting, the post about it, as proof that because of the late afternoon meeting today she couldn't have attended the state dinner. That Trump supporter was unaware that the meeting took place yesterday.
I'm guessing this was most likely a deliberate snub by Trump, who wasn't happy with what Haley said about sanctions, and probably was equally unhappy with her forcing an apology out of Larry Kudlow, who's now a favorite of his, and who WAS at the dinner.

(89,274 posts)and she is UN ambassador, not sec of state.
not that any of it really matters in this admin.
Trump is also the type that will not invite someone over personal slights . remember how he didn't let Sean Spicer attend the meeting with the Pope .

(49,041 posts)you're right that barring some emergency, Haley could have managed to attend the state dinner if she'd been invited.

(89,274 posts)i'm thinking most of those they are inviting are those he profits from. and if it means leaving others that are usually invited out , then that's fine.

(54,443 posts)How could one expect Trump to invite a diplomat to a diplomatic event if no one ever explained to him what a "diplomat" is?
