The suit also accuses Cohen of defamation, claiming that the lawyer's denial of her affair with the president “meant to convey that Ms. Clifford is a liar.”

Can one still plead the fifth?

That said civil cases are decided on preponderance of evidence rather than guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. I can't see how pleading the fifth will help him.
