Given how badly she's getting slammed in the comment section, I wonder if she regrets putting out this bone-headed statement.

'Course I had to look up "ratio'ed"..
The Ratio refers to an unofficial Twitter law which states that if the amount of replies to a tweet greatly outnumbers the amount of retweets and likes, then the tweet is bad.

(53,061 posts)Your posts are informative and give the appropriate context with excellent sources but you don't shy away from the two existential truths we face:1) we are confronting the most sinister mob to have taken the instruments of power in the history of our country and 2) we have to confront it with a persistent stream of mature reasoned exposure, resistance and a rational alternative.

(9,527 posts)I mean Donald Trump slams people on twitter all the time. The average comment poster is frankly an idiot. Go look at Yahoo comment sections.
Your first example is one of the myriad of people who fail to understand the first amendment doesn't guarantee that other people have to give you a platform. Just like DU isn't obligated to allow Trump supporters on the site even though the first amendment is a thing.
Basing opinions on the mob on the Internet is rarely a good idea.

(14,249 posts)Hmm - but here's the thing:
Michelle Wolf didn't crash the dinner, snatch the mike out of Margaret Talev's hand and start hurling insults indiscriminately. The WHCA GAVE her a platform. And now they're whining and criticizing HER for using that platform exactly as anyone with a brain and access to the Internet should have expected her to and are falling all over themselves to apologize to a woman whom the comedian rightly called out and who regularly lies and attacks them - all ostensibly because the comedian didn't help them offer a "unifying message" (which they no doubt neglected to put into her contract or even mention to her).
So, yeah, she's getting dragged and we'll deserves to be.
