Santorum Is "Very Liberal"

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

(CNN) - Ron Paul dinged rival Rick Santorum Monday for being a "very liberal" candidate, saying the former Pennsylvania senator and staunch social conservative voted for too much spending during his time in Congress.

Speaking to CNN Senior Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash before a campaign event with his son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, the White House hopeful said his rival had taken positions counter to true conservative ideas.

each other as being "liberal" and claiming to be "the true conservative." None of them are either liberal or conservative, but radical and batshit crazy. Period. We've been watching this bunch for months now here and there is nothing to recommend any of them to any ideology save the uninformed.

they are lost without a sail just as they were after W left. They covered - and were covered for by the media - with the "outrage" of the TeaBaggers but the lack of substance is showing. It always does.

It seems the GOP primaries is an ultracon orgy, with most trying to out ultracon their opponents. They can't dish out the conservative red meat fast enough.

The definition Paul is using for liberal includes anyone who sees the government as a tool to engineer society toward a desired outcome. This is the basis for the whole both parties are the same claim as well even though the two major parties want to use government to reengineer society for different reasons.

The problem is, everyone who ever lived, including Ronald Reagan, is to the left of Ron Paul. That doesn't make any of them liberals, it makes Ron Paul an extremist.

For people who say they believe that a common language is essential for national cohesion, they don't seem to have much concern for rewriting the one we're "supposed" to use whenever it suits them.
