19. Washington Post story reports that Sekulow compiled 49 questions and Trump fumed
Tue May 1, 2018, 09:14 PM
May 2018

"Mueller’s warning — the first time he is known to have mentioned a possible subpoena to Trump’s legal team — spurred a sharp retort from John Dowd, then the president’s lead lawyer.
“This isn’t some game,” Dowd said, according to two people with knowledge of his comments. “You are screwing with the work of the president of the United States.”

The flare-up set in motion weeks of turmoil among Trump’s attorneys as they debated how to deal with the special counsel’s request for an interview, a dispute that ultimately led to Dowd’s resignation.

In the wake of the testy March 5 meeting, Mueller’s team agreed to provide the president’s lawyers with more specific information about the subjects that prosecutors wished to discuss with the president. With those details in hand, Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow compiled a list of 49 questions that the team believed the president would be asked, according to three of the four people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk publicly. The New York Times first reported the existence of the list."

For his part, Trump fumed when he saw the breadth of the questions that emerged out of the talks with Mueller’s team, according to two White House officials.
The president and several advisers now plan to point to the list as evidence that Mueller has strayed beyond his mandate and is overreaching, they said."

the issues raised.

I wonder whether these questions were presented as possible questions for written answers. Depositions aren't usually so rigid.

Also, I have a sense that Mueller's team already knows what others have answered to these questions.

Now I learn that these are questions that Dowd, Trump's past lawyer, presented. That makes sense. Somehow they are to narrow in my view.

I wrote my post based on my reaction when I read the questions yesterday.

I'd need to review them in order to state more precisely the directions I would have addressed in addition to those questions.

The Russian funding to the NRA is one area that could be explored.

Money issues could be explored in more depth.

circle is very curious. Some say because he wants sympathy with supporters. Perhaps that's why nothing will be asked like "where did you get the money you needed in 2006?" His people would go crazy with that one. Agree on money issues - but perhaps that is more black and white? They have all the financial records now right?

But all that said, heard they were not actual questions from Mueller right - that they were given topics and Trump lawyers came up with possible questions. Wow, just saying that - it makes zero sense doesn't it. Lots of them in my view are very pointed and incriminating. Maybe that is what they are doing...practicing? Like why did you tweet this about Comey? Lets them come up with bogus reply. But that doesn't even make sense if they aren't even Mueller's questions - when would they even get asked.
