What part of the NDA/payoff is illegal?
Stated differently, given what we know did Cohen break the law?
Is the veiled threat in the parking lot the only illegal aspect?

(34,200 posts)I can't find the date of the payoff but it was in October and I think it was after the "pussy grabbing" scandal broke which really did cause his numbers to tank temporarily.
It makes sense that the payoff was in response to his falling numbers due to scandal and he was trying to limit his exposure with future Stormy disclosures. But if there is evidence....it could be the smoking gun.
I'm not a lawyer. That's just my simple understanding.

(62,444 posts)Let's say I rob a convenience store and make off with $500.
I then buy your car from you for $500.
Are you asking "What part of my buying your car was illegal" or are you asking "What part of my overall activity was illegal?"
There is nothing wrong with me buying your car for $500. There is a lot wrong with my stealing $500 and then using it to buy a car.
So, are you asking "what part of the NDA and payment to Daniels is illegal?" or are you asking "what part of the overall objective was illegal?"
