Judge rules 'Trump Place' condo board can remove Trump name from building
By Brooke Seipel - 05/03/18 11:09 AM EDT
A New York City judge has ruled in favor of the condo board at "Trump Place," which sued the Trump Organization seeking to remove the president's name from the building, according to multiple reports.
The condo board at "Trump Place" filed their lawsuit after residents complained it would damage property values.
The condo board argued that the building was not bound by a licensing agreement with the Trump Organization to display Trump's name on the building.
"Trump Place", located at 200 Riverside Boulevard in Manhattan, is just one of six buildings bearing the same name. Since the 2016 election, three of the buildings have removed Trump from their name, according to The Post.
Other Trump-branded buildings, including Trump hotels in New York, Toronto and Panama, have removed Trump from their name.
Thursday's ruling could impact future Trump-brand buildings who may seek to remove his name from their buildings in the future.
Trump's son, Eric Trump, had defended the Trump Org in the fight to keep the name on the building, saying it preserves his father's legacy.

(17,194 posts)Leaving, if only for a short time, "RUMP TOWER", "RUMP PLAZA", "RUMP PLACE", and other names to demonstrate our LUUUUUV for Dear Leader.
Beware, though: I read a while back that "Scion" is the new rebranding of the hallowed Rump name and legacy.
