Devin Nunes is at it again. This time, his target is none other than the Attorney General. This is going to be entertaining for a number of reasons. But you knew that, of course.

It seems that, two weeks ago, Nunes sent a letter to Sessions demanding certain information that he can use to buttress his “FISA abuse” investigation. A week later, having not had any response, he upped the stakes with a subpoena. On thursday he received a letter from DoJ telling him to pound sand, explaining that, after consulting with the FBI, the Director of National Intelligence, and the frigging White House, they were unable to comply with his demands.

Today, he appeared on FOX to complain. Because of course he would.

... “On Thursday we discovered that they are not going to comply with our subpoena,” Nunes said on “Fox and Friends Sunday.”

“The only thing left to do is we have to move quickly to hold the attorney general of the United States in contempt and that is what I will press for this week” ...

It’s unclear if the GOP-led House of Representatives would have the votes to hold Sessions, a fellow Republican, on contempt of Congress charges.

At least one leading Republican Sunday said he’s not even clear what Nunes and the Justice Department “are arguing about” and expressed caution on resorting to “very extraordinary measures” ...

"We're just not going to take this nonsense of every time we peel something back, every time we need information, we get ignored, we get stalled or stonewalled," Nunes said ...

"Disclosure of responsive information to such requests can risk severe consequences, including potential loss of human lives, damage to relationships with valued international partners, compromise of ongoing criminal investigations, and interference with intelligence activities," the letter, written by Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd, read.
