House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a recent interview that Republicans target her because she is effective.
I take it as Im effective, Pelosi told The Associated Press. I also happen to be, apart from anyone whos running for president or been the presidential nominee, the biggest fundraiser in the country."
Pelosi also said House Democrats have both the political climate and fundraising to help them win the lower chamber in the upcoming midterm elections.
This is not going to be big margins, Pelosi told the news outlet. It is going to be small margins in many places.

(42,331 posts)Because she's "divisive" (there's that word again). There have been many posts here on DU about it.

Who on the left supports the right's attacks because of her effectiveness and fund raising abilities?

(42,331 posts)and insist she's not been effective, because of the aforementioned "divisiveness." Some want her replace by a white male Dem congressman because...

(90,683 posts)...in the House, and that Nancy is old, tired, close to death (if you look at actuarial tables), out of new ideas, out of touch, needs to be primaried by a real progressive, not inspirational to young progressives, a millstone around our necks, and a lightning rod for GOP hatred. The latest one said we needed "a housecleaning from top to bottom" -- which at least had the virtue of targeting every Dem with experience and not just the women.
Friends, did I leave anything out?
Progressoid, these things have been posted often enough at DU that I have memorized them without even trying. "Who on the left?" you ask. Look around you.

(49,990 posts)let's say a life-long Democrat and supporter of liberal causes, should have legitimate criticisms of another Democrat (Pelosi or otherwise). How does that life-long Democrat voice those criticisms on DU without being labeled as someone 'siding with the right', a Russian troll/bot or some other lame accusation?

I never thought GOP attacks on Pelosi were about winning elections. They are about tricking Dems into removing their most effective leader.

Republicans see diminished value in anti-Pelosi campaign. They need more than that to save majority. My guest hosting of #daily202

The latent national misogyny, of course, makes it all the more effective (and appalling)
