Where was that huge pop again ?
BTW, trump's average low was about 37% when he suggested the Neo-NAZIS at Charlottesville were good people. He will do something equally stupid or despicable and test those lows again.

(22,638 posts)"Nonetheless, be careful if you think Trumps demise is right around the corner. Even if there were a big shift in Trumps approval ratings eventually, it could take a long time for it to come, perhaps only after he was successfully re-elected as was the case for Nixon. Or, the surprise could be that Trumps ratings shift way upward instead of way downward. (Since Trumps approval ratings are low to begin with, he might have more room to go up than down.)
Also, it probably isnt a coincidence that both Trump and Obama had narrow approval-rating ranges given how intense partisanship is these days. For Trumps approval rating to get much higher than 50 percent, he would need significant crossover support from Democrats; for it to get much lower than 35 percent, he would need a significant number of Republican voters to turn on him.8 The theory that Trumps popularity is bounded within a narrow range has a lot going for it, including that it has described the actual behavior of his approval rating well so far. Still, history tells us that presidential approval ratings behave in a relatively unpredictable fashion."

(58,724 posts)Do you think his approval ratings would be lower if the economy was doing worse?

(56,829 posts)Trump took credit for the end of the war between North & South Korea, and much of the media just went along for the ride. Then, Republicans in the House started pushing for Trump to get the Nobel Peace Prize... it added up to a bump of several points.
That, plus the economy is still doing okay, despite rising gas prices.

(5,008 posts)@sshole for 6 more years. I never thought Bush would get re-elected and I was devastated. Trump is a million times worse than Bush /Cheney but he knows how to dominate the media. They are always talking about him. Then he spins it as good..
