With all the topics on DU, I just realized there isn't a human sexuality group

I don't know why I didn't notice or realize before. The only time it tends to come up is in discussion of negative things for the most part, abuse, etc. Weinstein type of events or the occasional porn thread.

Would people be interested in a group that covered more than just the bad side of things? I mean, it'd be a part of it, but there's lots of other things that could make for interesting discussions since there's so much out there that occasionally makes its way into the mainstream in the news, ala Stormy, BDSM, etc.

Blue_Adept! True blue!

Your suggestion for a human sexuality group seems logical to me.

Hopefully I'll see a bit more interest here and submit it in ATA.

We should be able to discuss anything in a respectful manner. As to that actually being the case, time will tell.

Shoot even the hosts of some groups don't even post in the groups they host.

A human sexuality group could easily turn into the Israel/Palestine group. People have strong and diverse opinions about it along with judgments and shame and lots of emotional baggage or even anxiety. What's normal and healthy to one DUer could cause another to flip their shit or be triggered.

If you want discussion on this badly enough, there are message boards for positive human sexuality out there. A quick google search can find you plenty of options for relationship discussions or exploring BDSM or polyamory or whatever you're into.

And it quickly got out of hand.

I, frankly, don't care if people want to discuss sex here, but I know a lot of people will probably lose their shit over it.
