Can trump pull the U.S. out of the Iran treaty by himself? A treaty like that is

President Obama didn't even submit it to the Senate for a vote.

4. I didn't know that. I was just researching the question a bit and found that it's

not settled law as to who can do it. If the president alone or if it needs congress to go along with it.

Seems they should make a determination on this question before it becomes a dire one. The constitution only states how a treaty is treated not how to undo it.

2. The Iran agreement is not a "treaty" and did not require affirmative Senate "ratification"

It is an international agreement that, under a process agreed to by Obama, could have been rejected by Congress, but the Democrats were able to filibuster the vote of disapproval, preventing that from happening.

Just as the president can enter into such an agreement without congressional action, so too can the president undo such an agreement.

3. Every 90 days the President has to certify Iran is continuing to comply with the agreement.

So far Trump has done so. He can declare Iran is not in compliance.
