I noticed that today when he signed his name for the Iran deal pullout.

(34,195 posts)By the reckoning of New York psychotherapist Jeanne Safer, men are 'making a statement by not wearing a wedding ring.'
'It may unconsciously signal availability for adultery, either actually or in fantasy,' she told the New York Times.

(6,386 posts)My folks were married for 59 years before dad passed away and he never wore a wedding ring. A school teacher who was home for dinner every night of those 59 years with the exception of vacations with me and some nights in the hospital. So I don't think there was anything nefarious about it - he just didn't like how it felt.
Me - I wear it all day every day but we both take our jewelry off at night so it sits on the night stand. Was halfway to work one day and forgot it (don't ask...lol) so I turned around and came home for it.
So we're all different.
Thanks

P.S., I wear Dad's (maybe GRANDPA's ring) along with an old gift from my daughter when she was in pre-school!!!

(16,448 posts)Tried it for awhile and nearly rubbed my finger raw playing with it. My mom and dad have been married for 50 years and my dad never wore his either. Of course neither of us are degenerate womanizers like trump. I just dont like jewelry. I rarely wear a watch either.

(4,670 posts)He grew up on a farm, and saw at least one person lose a finger when it caught on some piece of machinery. I held out for the first 20 years, determined not to wear one if he didn't, but changed my mind, so he gave me a pretty ring 15 years ago. Some battles just fade away with time.

Of course, thats irrelevant here. Trump does nothing useful and never has.

(27,047 posts)when I was younger (in the 50s-60s or so) it was more common for men to not wear a ring. I remember wedding announcements written up as specifically stating that it was "a double-ring ceremony" to differentiate it from the norm. Somehow it caught on and is now more common than not, it seems. Actually, depending on a man's job (not Trump's) a ring can be a hazard when working with machinery.

(5,528 posts)I worked on and off as an electrician so as most in the trades didn't wear one. My Dad was an industrial engineer. No ring. Too easy to get caught in machinery as noted by the farmer's wife above. For electricians one danger is having the ring getting welded to a bus bar.

(22,166 posts)diamond out of its setting once when I once wore the ring. Believe it or not, we found the stone later, but no longer will wear the ring because of the risk of losing another stone.
It does happen!
RUMP doesn't respect the vows of marriage thus doesn't wear a ring because he's signaling to others that he's available. What a joke. I actually feel sorry for his ex wives and wife. You can't trust someone like RUMP, a serial liar if he spots a possible conquest (I hate this word), forget the wife, etc., it is all about the Pu**y.
Disgusting.
