Scott Dworkin: staffer told him that Nunes and staff are "targets" of Mueller.

Last edited Thu May 10, 2018, 03:53 PM - Edit history (1)

FWIW.

ON UPDATE: More than 2 dozen members of Congress have been indicted for various crimes since 1980. (See article at the end.) So there's hope!

BREAKING: A GOP Hill staffer just told me she was instructed today to keep her distance from Devin Nunes, his staff and the GOP House Intel Cmte staff, because it looks like they are targets "of multiple ongoing investigations by Special Counsel Mueller's office/FBI and the DoJ."

In February, GOP Rep Tom Rooney said that the entire Republican staff at the House Intelligence Committee is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee, even including “the woman up front that answers the phone,” for alleged leaks.

Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-Pa.) was indicted Wednesday for -- what else -- allegations of mishandling money.

And he's in plenty of company. More than two dozen members of Congress have been indicted since 1980. A handful of the indictments were about sex, and one was about lying about military service. But the vast majority, like Fattah's, are about money -- specifically, members of Congress accused of accepting bribes in exchange for pulling strings on their end. You see the word "racketeering" pop up a lot while reading about their charges. Everyone's looking to get ahead, and for some members of Congress, the pull of using their office for personal gain is too strong.

even if somehow Trump gets away with this Nunes needs to go to jail for his obstructing of justice and I don't care if it's 10 years now.

I don't have to know everything Mueller is doing especially when it comes to things like this. The GOP is already trying to shut him down. Pence just this morning was saying that it's time for Mueller to shut it down, and these leaks aren't going to earn him any favors among the GOP and the White House.

two different committees in the House one going against the other. So the GOP may take down Nunes themselves before Mueller can? I hope this is true.
