In the first place, the guy had no official reason to be there, nor any reason to be asking questions. He was arrested. I'd be arrested, too, if I disrupted a hearing.

Non-story, really, but RT tried to make it look like one.

Folks don't get to disrupt hearings like that one. If they do, they'll be removed from the place. Every. Last. Time.

Someone alerted on this and I think that was a BS move. Yes it's from RT but it's an interview which is single sourced and it belongs on DU. I'm the 4th person to recommend it as well and I hope another reader will send it to the greatest page if only to protest attempted censorship. YMMV...

We want desperately to forget about the torture our country committed and the cover-up and destruction of evidence that took place afterwards. It's embarrassing to both sides of the aisle, better to "look forward".

Had they opened the hearing up to public questions? Did he go over his allotted time at the microphone, and they were trying to move it along so the next member of the public could add their input?

Sorry if it's all explained in the video, my sound card is acting screwy, and my speakers don't seem to be working. If it is, just gimme a high sign, I will see about watching tomorrow when I'm at work on my phone.

"Ray McGovern is not just some random person. He wrote the daily intelligence briefings for several presidents and hand delivered many of them himself."

"McGovern is one of the good guys and it was disgraceful to see him manhandled by police for trying to challenge the odious Haspel. Lawrence was spot-on in suggesting that she embodies what Americans have become in their indifference to the evil things done in their name (and with their tax dollars). And he's right, I suspect, in seeing the arrogance of entitlement in the policy moves of the Trump administration. They seem to be stuck back in the immediate postwar period where the US did have a nearly free hand because our economy emerged from the war strengthened, not shattered. But our economy is now much weaker, which means that a reckoning is in the offing, perhaps sooner than we realize."

"I would have thought that dragging the former PDB officer from the hearings would be big news and awesome TV. Why are the links all to RT and something called consortium news, that I've never heard of? Why wasn't it in heavy rotation on CNN and in every network newscast?"

"The story wasn't on CNN and other networks because they are all owned by a handful of billionaires who are interested in getting even more money and maintaining the status quo. consortiumnews.com is an excellent source of independent journalism. I highly recommend them. I watch RT not because I love Russia but because it is the only place I can see progressive journalists like Chris Hedges and Ed Schultz. The mainstream media refuses to let them on the air, while RT lets them say whatever they want, even if it is critical of Russia.
Alternative news is struggling now because Google's new algorithms put them so low in the results that no one ever sees them. This is a stifling of free speech,"
