four or five and lead with them into the mid-terms. Here are my four. What are yours?
1. JOBS: coupled with wage EQUALITY. No difference in male or female; black, white, or brown, etc. Infrastructure, and all other good ideas. Money to be "borrowed" from military spending to "prime the pump". Of course, a more acceptable method would be to tax the rich as they need to be.
2. HEALTH CARE: Single payer transition. Buy into 100% Medicare coverage at, say, 45.
3. Universal Net Neutrality and massive move to the best broadband or other new tech on earth!
4. Legalization of Cannabis on the Federal level and the encouragement of commercial hemp production, as well.
Pick four or five. Appeal to pocketbooks and practical projects. Remember, health care is very important to almost everyone.

(42,641 posts)Use Eisenhower's speech about war spending.
Explain what the country could do if 1 trillion a year was not wasted on the war budget.
Recommended.

(3,750 posts)A strong defense must always be promised. There will be time to fine tune and change. Watch out for the military/industrial complex. Their factories must be switched over to peacetime production but don't give them a chance to sabotage the movement.

(3,750 posts)In the meantime, I believe it is counter productive to lead with too much anti gun rhetoric. The scared folks have been told for many years that "those liberals are gonna take your guns." We must not go out of our way to seem to be planning just that. When the culture changes the gun culture will follow.

(3,750 posts)Social Security needs to be shored up and people should retire earlier and not later. That will open up jobs for the younger workers who are finding it hard to get into the work force, etc.
Medicare should also be improved and expanded until it covers each and every person in America. Great!

(2,592 posts)water and wastewater facilities etc. This is the projection of the American Society of Engineers (I am a member), and we pay for it with no new taxes on wages, rather a charge on all stock trades and financial institutions.

(4,395 posts)2. Single payer universal health care
3. Free state university and a student loan jubilee for people who haven't been able to pay them off in more than ten years
4. Housing affordability initiatives including a significant increase in state run public housing
5. Campaign finance reform. Election day as a national holiday. Double redundant transparent systems of vote collection and tallying. Campaign season cannot last longer than two months. Caps on the amount that can be spent in a campaign. Free media access to candidates from all parties.
I also think we need to be hammering home every single day that the Russians attacked our last elections and the Republicans have done nothing to stop it from happening again. They have deliberately undermined national security efforts in a partisan bid to protect their nakedly corrupt leader. They have made America less safe and will continue to do so until they are removed from office.
