5 Things They Don't Want You to Know About the Olympics

You've seen the sappy commercials and the heartwarming back stories on morning talk shows. The athletes who have earned spots at the Olympic Games are the purest of the pure, the world's most dedicated sportsmen and women who probably won't earn much more for their work than a few seconds of airtime and an occasional appearance at the local sports store. I have thought about the price a city pays to host the Olympics,
enough to put it in bankruptcy.. but the corruption... and the sex.
What a hot place that village must be... a lot of sleeping around
but not much sleeping would be my guess. That could account
for the one prize wonders who win early then flub their later
events. Lol

Very enlightening read.

But still informative.

Not watching - well the bicycle race by accident - but really avoiding the fascistic shit show that is the Olympics.

Heard a piece on NPR today that West End London is totally getting screwed by the whole thing. The authorities made such a big deal out the supposed crowds and lack of hotel rooms that London tourism is actually down this summer.
