Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version (NIV)
36 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?
37 Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
BUT THEY HATE THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS
AND THEY HATE THEIR NEIGHBORS

No wonder Diana wanted her boys out of the rarifed atmosphere of the super-rich and privileged when they were boys.

(8,362 posts)Those women don't have a clue. They seem to have had smirks on their faces whenever I've seen them. I guess they're compensating for poor self-esteem, and have cultivated the condescending look.

Almost like the song was dedicated to Princess Diana and a dig at Prince Charles.

(81,466 posts)all suggested someone who was genuinely enjoying a great day for his last bachelor son. Seeing his younger son happy, partnering with a truly remarkable woman whos captured his countrys hearts, Id guess there was no pretense there. Just my guess, as a parent.
Seeing your kid married off. I got there myself a couple of years ago. Hard to express, fully, just what an amazing sense of satisfaction, relief, and gratitude I felt. The knowing - that they met someone who was a full, enthusiastic, and loving partner - that strongly suggests your baby wont be facing the world, and the inevitable bumps n grinds of living (yes, even for Meghan), alone. I cant adequately express what that meant to me. I can barely articulate how much that meant to me. Just as a parent, Id say ol Charles, too, was filled with those feelings.
And consider the adversities Harry faced. He hasnt had a perfect past or a carefree life. Losing his mom at a young and vulnerable age, having to navigate THAT kind of family business in public with all those centuries of tradition and the demands of an outfit like the monarchy, going through some funky years as a wild young dude, and seeing two tours in Afghanistan. He even seriously considered renouncing royal life. From everything Ive studied about it, thats pretty freakin huge!
Ive always felt sorry for Charles. Hes the unfortunate individual whos caught between The Old World and the New. And not knowing where the bridge was, on which to straddle those two worlds and transition from past to a dramatically evolving present. Thereve been times when I watched what was an apparent conflict in him as he struggled to do what hes been groomed for, and to do what he felt was right by his people, his country, and its powerful history. This morning, I watched him have what looked like a genuinely good time. Very satisfying.
I also thought that he was remembering the day that he married Diana. I was glad that he could rise to the occasion for his son.
