"If I Die In A School Shooting" was trending today:

IfIDieInASchoolShooting put my body in the parking lot of the NRA

#IfIdieInASchoolShooting i will only become a statistic. i will never be able to go to college. my dog will always wonder where i went. i will become a hashtag. i will never be able to fight for my life again. please don’t let gun violence continue.

#IfIdieInASchoolShooting don’t say “it’s too soon to talk about it” because it would be too late to save me. #fixit

#IfIdieInASchoolShooting I will be just one of many kids who's life meant nothing to our lawmakers. Just another statistic.

#IfIDieInASchoolShooting it’s because I will be a human shield over my students before I see any of them not get a chance to live past 8 years old

#IfIdieInASchoolShooting I will never graduate high school, get my driver's license, or go to Europe. I'll never finally learn how to ride a bike, I'll never drive on the Pacific Coast Highway, or see my brother again (he lives in New Orleans). I'll never get married.

#IfIdieInASchoolShooting
i will never
- get married
- have children
- go to college
- graduate
- buy a car
- live

#IfIDieInASchoolShooting Please politicize tf out of my death. Please use my pictures, life, and story to push for common sense gun laws. Please use my stolen voice and make sure it never becomes another statistic. Please use my death as activism to prevent others from dying.

#IfIDieInASchoolShooting My 8 younger siblings will have to grow up without their oldest sister, i’ll never graduate high school or college, i’ll never get to work in dc like i’ve wanted to since i was young, i’ll never get to create change

Kids are literally having to write out what would happen to them if they die so that adults can finally get it through their brains that they need to be protected. THAT. SHOULD. BE. A. GIVEN. We need to stop failing these kids. & It needs to happen now #IfIdieInASchoolShooting

#IfIdieInASchoolShooting my parents will become daughterless. i’ll never live my dream of becoming a mother and a writer. if I die in a school shooting, please honor me by never ceasing to intensively advocate for safer gun regulations. cover my grave in Forget-Me-Not flowers.

#IfIDieInASchoolShooting politicize the fuck out of my death and make sure that every single person who supports the NRA know that they’re responsible.

#IfIdieInASchoolShooting my parents would have no children, they will be daughterless and heartbroken. I would be lost in the endless names of children killed each year in school shootings. I will never become an EMT, Wife, and Mother. Slowly my presence would fade away.

#IfIDieInASchoolShooting

Please remember that love will set you free.

I hope to have a legacy. Pass some legislation for me. Waste no time. Do not cry but sing, sing songs of liberty. Songs of revolution and of peace.

This must not end with me.

I think high schools should feature one or two per day on their reader board signs. Just sign them "a ****** HS student"

I live in Iowa, learned to shoot at an early age, and would never ever think about shooting any human, especially kids. And as a guy actually named Joe, I sure wish that jackoff would change his name.

These are our kids. Presumably the most precious of gifts. They’re NOT supposed to have to deal with this shit. Their childhood innocence has been ripped from them (and those are the lucky ones - who are still alive) just so we can make sure guns of all kinds are sinfully easy to get.

There’s something VERY wrong with that.

No other job requires 3-6 hours of work when you know you will be absent.

When we get sick overnight, we hope and pray our emailed instructions are good enough.

If I were in a school shooting, I would like to think I would be a shield for my students.

get subs during flu season and they would double up classes and the other teachers would get pissed off at you if you were sick. I went to school sick so often that I ended up with mono for 6 months and weighed 85 pounds and once I got pneumonia and hospitalized since I went to school sick for two weeks. The principal let me go home from school when a parent complained to her that my skin was grey. Normally I would leave such detailed sub plans that I would have to write them while sick and drive them to school (before email). Teaching is no picnic!

My classroom door only opened out and I couldn't lock it from the inside so my plan was to hit a shooter over the head with a fire extinguisher as I would yell for the kids to run. Then I would tie him up with a jump rope and throw boiling water from my classroom microwave on his face as I called the office and police. I would never, ever want a gun in my class! I would be afraid I'd shoot a kid or myself.
