Pro-gun Kent State grad brings rifle to campus, tells officials to 'come and take it'

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/388061-pro-gun-kent-state-grad-brings-rifle-to-campus-tells-officials
A new graduate from Kent State has shared a graduation photo of herself walking on campus with an AR-10 rifle strapped to her back to make the argument that people should be allowed to carry guns on university grounds.

Kaitlin Bennett was photographed with the gun and the words "come and take it." The picture included a message harkening back to the killings in 1970 of four university students at Kent State by the Ohio National Guard.

Now that I graduated from @KentState, I can finally arm myself on campus. I should have been able to do so as a student- especially since 4 unarmed students were shot and killed by the government on this campus. #CampusCarryNow pic.twitter.com/a91fQH44cq

Those students were killed when guardsmen fired during a mass protest at the school's campus against the U.S. bombing of Cambodia.

Bennett posted an additional photo on Tuesday, saying she has no apologies for posting the pictures.

I have no apologies for my graduation photos. As a woman, I refuse to be a victim & the second amendment ensures that I don't have to be. pic.twitter.com/5CKmQobrMb

The point of Bennet's photo and message appeared to be that as a graduate, she has more rights to carry a gun on campus than she did as a student.

But Kent State's policy appears to prohibit the carrying of a deadly weapon on campus by faculty, staff and everyday people as well.

"Students, staff, faculty, and third parties doing business with the university are further prohibited from possessing, storing, or using a deadly weapon while outside on university grounds, that is owned, operated or leased by the university," reads Kent State's policy, according to CBS News.

Jesus Murphy, this young woman is twisted.

Kent State is really quite a liberal school.

This gun humping moron is a rare exception.

in the back. She's inviting trouble and I doubt has taken any firearm retention drills that prevent someone from taking your gun away.

Last week's news, but if we keep obsessing about her she'll be the next Ann Coulter or Toni Lasagna.

Probably because all that was said that needed to be said was done by last Thursday when this story "broke". She's an attention seeking idiot.

But there is a story about Jim Carrey painting a picture of her about halfway down. Equally stupid if you ask me.

If it was the first time you thought this was mentioned I can see wanting to point and laugh.

But I think she's at about 16 or 17 minutes everywhere by now.
