Let's suppose you two were out walking and you came across a dead body on the sidewalk. Let's say, unsurprisingly, you both stepped over it and walked on. Let's say, as you're ambling away, the cops arrive and describe the murder weapon as a .38 revolver. Let's say, a block up the street you come across a guy field stripping a .38 revolver, the smell of cordite, strong in the air. Let's say you observe the guy putting the bits and pieces of the now disassembled gun in various garbage cans and sewers and flower pots.

Would either of you conclude the guy dismantling the gun was in any way connected to the dead body you ignored?

1. I would say that it would depend on

whether or not the guy who had the gun had paid them any money to remain silent and if the dead guy was a friend or foe of theirs.
