Democrats should run in the 2018 midterms as the Law&Order party. No, seriously.
Republicans like to pretend they are the national-security party. What was the result?
9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria.
Republicans like to pretend they are the party of fiscal responsibility. What was the result?
The 2008 recession, the great tax-scam of 2018, exploding the national debt.
Republicans like to pretend they are the christian party with the moral high ground. What was the result?
Trump.
Republicans like to pretend they are the law&order party. What was the result?
Trump trashing the FBI and the DOJ and no Republican dares to stand up for them.
Here's my advice for the Democrats in 2018: EMULATE TRUMP.
Whenever he gets accused of something, his response is "I know you are, but what am I?"
Democrats should just do that. Democrats should simply declare themselves to be the law&order party and run in 2018 on demanding accountability, on the rule of law, on fighting corruption, on draining the swamp, on the premise that absolutely nobody is above the law.
But here's the thing: Don't do it in a cowardish, half-assed way. Go full-ass with drama and jingoism!
The Republicans defined "Law&Order" as synonymous with low-key racism. Here's the once-in-a-lifetime chance for Democrats to redefine "Law&Order" and to steal that topic from the Republicans.
