http://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-tame-continent-america-945121
<snip>
President Donald Trump said at a Naval Academy commencement address Friday that “our ancestors tamed a continent,” adding that “we are not going to apologize for America.”

"Together there is nothing Americans can't do, absolutely nothing," Trump told 2018 graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy. “In recent years, and even decades, too many people have forgotten that truth. They've forgotten that our ancestors trounced an empire, tamed a continent, and triumphed over the worst evils in history."

He added: "America is the greatest fighting force for peace, justice and freedom in the history of the world. We have become a lot stronger lately. We are not going to apologize for America. We are going to stand up for America."

Before Europeans arrived in what became the United States, Native Americans occupied the land but were forced to relinquish territory as the new Americans pushed westward as part of what was termed “manifest destiny.” In 1830, President Andrew Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act, which led to the deaths of thousands of Native Americans.

His grandfather came over in 1885. At age 16. Even if you're OK with the shape of it, pretty much all of the "taming" had already been done by then.

Andrew Jackson was the architect of a Native America genocide
Donna M. Loring • May 8, 2017
The Indian Removal Act displaced thousands of Native people from their homelands and thousands died on that journey. Andrew Jackson is the father of Native American genocide in the Southeast. We should not forget that the United States Congress passed that Act by one single vote, either. Although the concept was Jackson’s, Congress was an accomplice. Greed was behind the creation of the Removal Act.

Fifteen years after his death and after this horrendous act of genocide, the Civil War broke out.

The two bloody periods remind me of the Christian story of good and evil in the Garden of Eden and how the devil tempted Eve to take a bite of the apple. That was the first bite and look where it got them! No more Eden.

Today, Jackson’s portrait is proudly displayed in the oval office. President Trump, wants to be just like Jackson.

Here's a flash for you, Dizzy Donnie. Four out of five Germans killed in WWII were fighting against the USSR.

And the Germans had 250 divisions on the Eastern Front as opposed to 60 on the Western Front.

One more thing, numbskull. We weren't the only Allied Force fighting on the Western Front. It wasn't won on the Universal City backlot.

I'm not degrading our part in the war by any means. Our men were well trained, well armed, and fought as well or better than anyone.

My Dad and two uncles were in it. My Mom's brother won the Distinguished Flying Cross. And my Mom's favorite cousin was shot down over Germany. His remains were never recovered.

or ethnic cleansing, take your pick.

Hitler was a great admirer of what we did to the Native Americans in this country.

How Hitler Took Inspiration From Native American Extermination To Forge His Final Solution
By Andrew Milne Published January 31, 2018

Adolf Hitler took his inspiration from another source: America.

American history is ripe with the call of “Manifest Destiny,” the American call-to-action to domesticate and tame the lands around them, inhabited by native peoples. Outside powers have forced land from native peoples from the time of the first colonization to the modern era.

19. His white superiority language refers to more than the first colonization

It refers to white superiority beliefs going back hundreds of years in Europe.
in modern times it reached its peak when most of Europe was ruled by Queen Victoria's family tree.

A marvelous book, "The Imperial Cruise" outlines how openly racist America was from day one, and how "Manifest destiny" was forged in white superiority AND a belief of owning the globe, so to speak. Teddy Roosevelt almost single handedly pushed for imperialism across the Pacific Ocean.

all the words got cleaned up for public consumption, when we told we had to save other races from their ignorance, and bring them in to "the Christian fold", Ideas that Britain used in conquering half the globe...or maybe all of it.
"The sun never sets on the British empire".

Trump is parroting the real language when he talks about preferring people from Norway, "Nordic" being a very symbolic term
in the language of white superiority.
unfortunately his vile words are pretty obvious dog whistles to the racists among us, who have been forced to be pretty quiet until Donnie was illegally installed in the WH.
