George Takei accuser walks back key details

In a lengthy interview with The New York Observer‘s Shane Snow published Thursday, Brunton recounts the night at the actor’s home where the alleged incident occurred but admits he didn’t remember Takei touching his genitals.

The person that accused Mr. Takei has walked back this key event as well as giving conflicting accounts of the events leading up to and after the event to various media outlets.

I think it’s safe to say that George is the wonderful and kind human being and the loving and faithful husband we always knew he was.

5. Although I always want to come down on the side of the victims in these cases, this is the kind of..

thing that can blow up a movement. I'm remembering the woman in TX who accused an arresting officer of rape, and the video evidence proved that she made the whole thing up. There are legitimate victims out there, and then there are the attention seekers who want to raise their own profile at the expense of others.

But I saw how "believe the children" turned into "believe any damn thing on the basis of nothing whatsoever." Innocent people went to prison for decades. Uncle George got caught up in something twisted like that. I'm glad he was alive to see it; I hope what he lost can be restored to him.

A date rape drug knocks you out. You don't wake up seconds later.

Even the accuser was relieved to find out it was probably just stiff (excuse me) drinks.

8. Saw this earlier. I'm glad.

This always had the feel of more mixed signals and the drinks hitting harder than expected. It sounds like even the accuser was relieved to hear that his feeling woozy was not likely the result of drugs, and based on his story he was able to say no, at which point the advances stopped. He was also able to drive home. They were both adults, there was no power-over issue, and several months after this became public we have not had more accusers come forward.
