serious trouble with Israel running our foreign policy particularly with Trump in the White House since he knows nothing about foreign policy and doesn't care to learn anything about it. All he cares about is lining his pockets, and unfortunately there are plenty of people who will line his pockets to keep him distracted from the foreign policy agendas of the Israelis, and the Guilianis and the Boltons of this nation.

(5,210 posts)but I've marvelled at his ability -- almost a super hero talent -- to be at the center of the newest conflagration before the rest of us know there is one. Be there AND report intelligently and incisively on it. Amazing journalist.

When I got married, my wife and I just said; we'll see what happens"
Going to court, I always felt relief when my lawyer said; "we'll see what happens".
When I bought a steak at the grocery store and asked if it was guaranteed not to be laced with ecoly the butcher always says; we'll see what happens.
We wouldn't except that fucking bullshit answer from the kid who delivers our newspaper, but enough stupid shitstains staying home on election day gave us a fucking "we'll see what happens" president

(58,785 posts)especially is benefiting. But we're still hugely wealthy and powerful, and many nations are healthy and prosperous without ruling the planet. The main problem to worry about right now is planetary stability, military, economic, biologically, climatologic. But 150+ nations right now are busy figuring out what they need to do to make up for us going crazy, both individually and in organization with each other. We're not really in this alone.
