another 5 to 10 years.
Year over year premium percentage increases that would cripple any other "business".
The outright denial of needed procedures, or "constructive denial" by making the patient/doctors work so hard to get approvals that they give up.
Exorbitant co-pays for tier 3 drugs.
CEO compensation.
The ONLY people the insurance companies work for are their shareholders. Remember this...when you see insurance companies calling themselves "health companies", they have ZERO interest in your health.
I do not see how this can last. These pigs seem to be so greedy that they are literally killing their consumers.

(476 posts)Like any corporate interest Healthcare isn't designed to help people in America, but to turn a profit. This isn't designed to be sustainable, it's designed to cut costs (I. E. remove Healthcare from the poor and high risk) and increase profits.
Sure, if you want Healthcare you should be born rich. What's the big deal?

(13,640 posts)or a giant bureaucracy designed to provide health care. It eventually has to shake out that people get health care for what they can afford to spend. It's going to have to be some form of single payer or an all not for profit system. Some combination maybe.
Anyone in the medical field should see that, especially those of us with more average Joe type medical jobs. I am actually recently retired from a blood center. A good part of my income came from blood units transfused to Medicare and Medicade patients. A huge chunk depended on people with good enough coverage and benefits at work to be able to afford to take time off and have elective procedures done.
Some of these white wingers in the medical field I know that vote republican have to be out of their minds! The may as well be casting a direct vote to shut down their own jobs.

(1,706 posts)nothing we do is sustainable:
farming practices
energy from oil, gas and coal
the economy
population rise
our election system
we need to take a hard look at just how we exist and make some major changes

(23,978 posts)sometimes it really appears that way - America for the Uber Rich, everyone else get ready to kiss some wealthy employer ass.
many of the cattle seem willing to head for the killing floor of their own accord. the remainder may need extra "encouragement".

According to Healthcare Bluebook, the fair price of this surgery is $6,832 which does include the surgeons fee
