Yankee fans gave Rudy Giuliani the Giancarlo Stanton treatment.
The former New York City mayor was at The Stadium to celebrate his 74th birthday on Memorial Day, with the PA announcer sharing the news with the crowd and wishing him a happy birthday.
The fans, however, greeted him with hearty boos.

(1,216 posts)JFK was the best all around president. He was loved around the world.

(23,336 posts)I Really did like JFK a lot, but was a bit too young to connect with him so much before he was killed. Kind of came of age with Bobby, and the more I learned about him, the more I thought he was the political leader I would most want to emulate. The day he was killed is still one of the saddest days of my life. Other than maybe Paul Wellstone, I have yet to find any politician fill his shoes. Obama and Hillary Clinton are the only other ones that have come close.

(1,216 posts)His news conferences with media were the best I have ever seen. JFK was knowledgeable on issues, and very likable. Amazing man, whose life was brutally ended too soon. He was the reason economy revived due to his economic policies and I found a job in Chicago. And he genuinely like people regardless of race, religion or national origin.

(15,751 posts)like the Steinbrenner treatment. when Reggie Jackson hit a home run AGAINST the YankeeS. Full stadium of angry at Steinbrenner fans, shouting 'FUCK YOU STEINBRENNER'.

(58,724 posts)Giuliani promised to clean up petty crimes and to aggressively police them. He ran up the vote in Staten Island, Queens (losing the other boroughs). The "law and order" schtick worked well, electorally. Then he took credit for the subsequent drop in crime and "cleaning up" of Times Square.

(11,572 posts)I laughed right out loud when I read the headline. The video was a tad anticlimactic, though - I was hoping there was going to be a little moment with him in the infield, but I'm not sure he was even there. And he probably wasn't.
