The Economy Is Booming -- Just Not For You

"SNIP..........

Axios reports ......

executives of big U.S. companies suggest that the days of most people getting a pay raise are over, and that they also plan to reduce their work forces further.

... This was rare, candid and bracing talk from executives atop corporate America, made at a conference Thursday at the Dallas Fed. The message is that Americans should stop waiting for across-the-board pay hikes coinciding with higher corporate profit; to cash in, workers will need to shift to higher-skilled jobs that command more income.

Troy Taylor, CEO of the Coke franchise for Florida, said he is currently adding employees with the idea of later reducing the staff over time "as we invest in automation." ...

The moderator asked the panel whether there would be broad-based wage gains again. "It's just not going to happen," Taylor said. The gains would go mostly to technically-skilled employees, he said. As for a general raise? "Absolutely not in my business," he said.

Young people with factory jobs should look at investing in some form of higher education, because manufacturing jobs are going to continue to dwindle, no matter what lies Trump feeds.

Most manufacturing jobs that are lost aren't lost due to them going overseas...it's due to automation. And there's no slowing that down.

And what would you suggest the hundreds of thousands of folks without college ability to do? And what's the answer to all the kids who have college degrees now, but, no jobs? The answer is just to keep going to college and dreaming? Please.
Jobs werent lost to automation...theyre in china and mexico.

But the facts are the facts. Look at McDonalds, almost every one I walk into now has touchscreens for ordering. Automation is taking a lot of jobs, and it's only going to get worse.

It does sound cruel, I know. But when a company can buy a machine for $200,000 that does the job of three people who each make $50,000, it's going to pay off for the company in two years. And they're going to choose to do that every time.

Here are a couple articles about it, if you don't believe me.

When people refuse to go to stores that themselves hold employees in disdain or as a liability. It's happening already. HUMANS at the cash registers OR HUGE REDUCTIONS ON THE GROCERIES AND FOOD. Not paying more profit to the trillionaire Walton Family. Night jim bob. Might mary anne....Night momma. etc

The future will be very bright for those who gain the skills required to repair, design, build, install & program automation. I would suggest that would be a great career path for many young people
