jobs in television and films - a province that is still dominated by white men.

You know, white privilege.

But the white folks who just lost their jobs will likely have a much easier time getting new jobs than the black folk who lost their jobs.

Again, you know, white privilege.

They knew who she was.

I can't excuse anyone, of any color for working for Roseanne any more than I can excuse anyone, of any color, working for Trump.

a white woman and well known racist just could not stop herself. She feels entitled to spew her filth. Archie Bunker played a racist. Rosanne is one. She spewed this on twitter, a well know TV personality felt it was cool to just vent her spleen on a black woman. She called her an ape. She is a trumper. What a surprise.

Karma baby, you just got your ass kicked to never never land. No show, CANCELLED. All reruns, CANCELLED. Bye baby bye.
Fuck you.

As for her coworkers, I feel for them and for you to imply it was their white privilege that got them there...no it was Rosanne's that got them there. You need a little understanding here. Not all white people wield their whiteness as privilege. Rosanne did. only Rosanne.

And they would have had ample evidence that Roseanne regularly tweets hateful, racist, disgusting things - and then not given her millions of dollars to write, produce, and star in her own TV show.

Someone who I was friends with on Facebook once referred to Michelle Obama as an ape (forgive me for stating the word here, but I wanted my post to be clear). I’d been friends with this person for more than 50 years. We are both white.

I told her it was unacceptable, I unfriended her and have had no further contact with her. I cannot remain friends with someone who thinks a comment like that is casual. It is not. It is repulsive and everyone regardless of color needs to condemn speech like it.

While I question the true motives behind ABC firing Roseanne, it is at least an action in the right direction. A consequence, at least, for an unspeakable offense.

comparisons all day long in private...she just could not keep her mouth shut in public and further, didn’t feel like she had to. After all, we have a pResident who suffers no consequences for the same public language.

That is the most insightful point I have heard yet. IMO, the answer is “no”. Today she went too far, even if for the rest of us it was a long time coming. RB is addicted to the same drug as the malignant narcissist pResident.

how ignorant these people who do that are. WE ARE ALL APES! We have a common ancestor with the apes of today. Furthermore, the oldest human origins found show that we ALL came from Africa. At some point in evolution homo sapiens were born with less melanin and that's how we got white people. And there is no privilege in that. It was just a fluke!

How much different the world could be if more people understood this. I am not even sure how the white people of today think we came about. Do they actually believe some god set them down in the garden of Eden and they were white? No wonder they have such issues with folks who look somewhat different.

I think education would go a long way to get over these issues. Even in Tanzania where albinos can be killed or harmed because of superstitious beliefs. Educating people about the scientific facts could go a long way to stop all of this petty and ridiculous stuff and then MAYBE once most of humankind gets how we are all connected and that we are all on the same planet we can spend more time and effort toward keeping it a good place for all the living things.

That is my $.02. This is also why i get so angry and impatient with the likes of Roseanne and trumpsters. They are just ignorant and and reveling in it and they seem to have a large following.
