Too bad Spanky never got the urge to volunteer to help those less fortunate than he was, like his mother did.

She was involved in charities and causes, including helping those with cerebral palsy, improving the lives of intellectually disabled adults, and was active in the Salvation Army and the Lighthouse for the Blind, among other charities.
