1. Remember the prison camp scene in "It's a Beautiful Life"

when the kids are all collected in trucks to go for baths but instead are all killed by the fascists, all except the little boy who hides out because he hates baths?

That's what this reminds me of.

6. It's not a huge leap from "taken away briefly to bathe" to "taken to the showers."

And the white nationalists and assorted racists who back Trump wouldn't bat an eyelash if it actually came to extermination.

The Trump "administration" and its rabid supporters have taught me more about how a country like 1930s Germany would fall under the fatal spell of nationalism, militarism and "ethnic purity."

I hoped it would quit being a lie. In my opinion we witness a lie everytime we say or stand for "equal justice for all" I fear it won't be true in my lifetime.

My husband was going to put out our flag, and I didn't want to argue with him.

Our country is being led down a horrible path by some evil people.

Go here to see if there's an event near you:

And if there's not an event, consider joining the PPC, and organizing in your area.

Actually, AT LEAST one.

They are doers, DUers! And YOU can feel like you actually are doing something concrete, in real time, and often, directly to your reps.

HIGHLY recommended. A great way to fight off that feeling of futility, even if in a small way. And often, the Indivisible members are also part of other groups. Ours includes Progressive Democrats, local/regional Democratic clubs, the local Citizens Climate Lobby, and the local Moms Demand Action chapter. Sometimes they're tied in with local governments, too.

I am becoming more and more infuriated with his fascist bullshit! This should be the tipping point! Those who remember the history of the Holocaust should be up in arms over this, and the accumulation of everything else that "evinces a design to reduce [us] under absolute despotism."

34 Then The King will say to those who are at his right, 'Come, blessed ones of my Father, inherit the Kingdom that was prepared for you from the foundation of the universe.' 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, and I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in. 36 I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you came to me.' 37 Then the righteous will say to him, 'Our Lord, When did we see you that you were hungry and we fed you, or that you were thirsty and we gave you drink? 38 And when did we see you, that you were a stranger and we took you in, or that you were naked and we clothed you?' 39'And when did we see you sick or in a prison, and we came to you?' 40 And The King answers and says to them, 'Amen, I say to you, as much as you have done to one of these my little brothers, you have done that to me.'
