Recall my Cousin worked in Fort Francis and Lived in International Falls. As a Electrician working for the Railroad,he was assigned to work Fort Francis Engine Repair Facility based on Union Seniority . How many thousands of others are effected.
Running joke in our family was,if you worked at International Paper in the Falls and had Boys who could play Hockey, you lived in the Falls. If you had only Girls, you lived in Fort Francis.

Once I made him a bookmark collaged with vintage matchbook covers from Fort Francis spots and old Canadian stamps
My favorite thing was a Royal Canadian Mountie toy statue with "Fort Francis" slapped on the base.

(41,991 posts)We dont go up often but I have friends in Blaine, WA, on the border, and people are just living their lives, crossing back and forth as always. Other friends live here and work there and vice versa. Its just a way of life.
If it wasnt for that asshole everything would be fine.
